| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to Official Documents GERALD MICHAEL MARTIN (age 70) sexually assaulted two 17 year-old males that were known to him. Victim 1 stated that he brought his girlfriend to the house on one occasion. Martin asked if he could videotape the two of them having sex. Victim 1 stated that they were both under the influence of the drugs Martin had provided them. Victim 1 stated that Martin had expectations for he and Victim 2 and feared that if they didn't meet them,they would be kicked out of the home or worse. They reported that he feared Martin because he was known to have guns. Detectives served a search warrant on Martin's residence on 02/08/12 and contacted Martin at that time. During an interview with Detectives, Martin admitted that he had used methamphetamine with both victims. Martin witnessed Victim 2 filming Victim 1 and his girlfriend having sex. He admitted that he allowed it to take place in his home. He also admitted being in posession of the digital images which were recorded. Martin was arrested by detectives on 02/08/12 after they served the search warrant on his residence. Martin was screened for the Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP) on 01/26/15 and was found eligible for treatment. However, Martin was in denial of his current offense and it was determined that he was not amenable to treatment and would not be prioritized for the SOTP. Martin was released 04/25/2016 and will be supervised for 36 months out of the Marysville WA DOC Field Office (360) 658-2150. " Probation Conditions Entered |
