| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents in 10-1999 it was reported to Police that GUY GREGORY GARBER, at age 36 molested a known 18 to 30 month old family member. Investigators determined GARBER molested the child victim on 12 separate occasions after admitting the crimes. Investigators attempted to interview the victim but she would not engage in conversation with the Police. It was later learned that GARBER had threatened the child with not ever seeing her mother if she disclosed the molestation. No charges were filed at that time. On 12-2003 a protection order was granted after GARBER disclosed to the victim's mother he had sexual feelings toward the victim. On 1-2004 GARBER was arrested for violating a protection order with the victim by giving a letter to the victim's mother. The victim was again interviewed on 1-2004 and disclosed memories of sexual abuse by GARBER. Charges were filed 1-2006 after the violation of the protection order and continued investigation. The victim was again interviewed on 2-2006 and this time she disclosed the details she was able to remember about the sexual abuse done by GARBER. Charges were amended on 4-2007. On 4-2007 GARBER pled guilty to three counts of Child Molestation First Degree in Clallam County Superior Court. GARBER was sentenced to 114 months confinement and will be supervised by DOC. GUY GREGORY GARBER is currently under WA DOC Supervision. He will be supervised by the WA DOC Marysville Field Office, 360-658-2150. " Probation Conditions Entered |
